alyssathevampire 's review for:
Doctor Sleep
by Stephen King
I was so hesitant to read this because I love The Shining so much, but King really managed a sequel worthy of the iconic original novel.
This is a story about childhood trauma and breaking generational cycles with a light backdrop of horror, and I personally loved that.
I genuinely enjoyed spending time with every character, even the villains. (Small detail but I loved Andi's little queer journey.) Stephen King is such a master at storytelling and weaving plotlines together. No detail is there by accident.
