Wow Viola Davis had a really hard life.  I don't give memoirs star ratings but this one was great.  Racism, colorism, poverty, misogyny, abuse.  I bet this is incredible on audiobook.  The writing sounds like a story that flows easily.  There's a little bit of timeline shifting that got a little confusing but even that wasn't enough to take away from how good her story is.  The love and compassion she has for her family is amazing, there are so many things that happened to her that I don't think I would be able to forgive.
