I have given the book a 4 out of 5 as it is superbly written. In saying that this was a very difficult book to read , especially the first five chapters. The explicit nature of the descriptions of a paedophile perpetrating sexual and physical violence against a 14-year-old girl is very difficult to read. Likewise, the crimes of his adult son against women were horrendous. By far this is the most difficult book I have read in many years.
