Enjoyed this much more than the first one, though I had a feeling Justin would end up a vampire right from the start, first book even. He's popular, easily jealous, charming, all the makings of a vampire.
This book wasn't as focused on the high school drama of the first, it was first and foremost a fantasy fiction book with vampires at the centre, my favourite. Much more action and danger.
Though we never did find out why Odette had traits not typical of other vampires, the fast healing etc, we only found out why her power was stronger.
I feel Vicken and Rhode could have a little more to their characters too sometimes I find them both a little boring but other times I get why Lenah loved them both, just sometimes they both fall flat for me.
Overall enjoyed the book though, nice little twists on traditional vampires and a good storyline.
