The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
5.0
The author's telling of her life story was engaging and dynamic. It painted a very clear picture of events that took place in her childhood, and the experiences were varied and certainly unique. She seemed to offer things up from the perspective of her younger self while also not oversimplifying the moments. It was mature without being overly analytical of the past. The whole book kept me engaged and I honestly would have been interested in peering into her family life for a lot more experiences they went through. I would also like to read about how her childhood and parenting impacted her adult life from her own perspective later. Perhaps she's written more on that?
