A solid start to a series.

I was kinda scared of reading this series because, well, the crew in the first era books worked so hard to save this world and if something is gonna be wrong again, I would be very angry. Fortunately I was told that this series is "comparatively" low stakes and not as epic. So I picked this series to just fondly have a look at the world the first crew saved, and I had fun.

It was amusing to see beloved characters being reverently referred (Eg: "The most powerful Allomancer who ever lived. A nearly mythological figure, someone who had all sixteen Allomantic powers in one body. How powerful would he have been?" Oh please. That's just my boy Spook) It was fun to read. Speaking of the first crew, the tenets of Path(in which Sazed's teachings are followed) seem sooo much like Sazed, It made me miss his presence in the books. There are many more tidbits like how Spook's dialect became the High Imperial language. It felt bizarre, in a good way.

About the actual story, I guess there will be more of the story in the next books and this is just the start. I feel like not much happened but believe that more will happen(similar to the first era books).

Wax and Wayne's banter was fun to read. I really enjoyed it and had a good time. I really liked Wax's character. The good character with a tight moral compass pointed straight to goodness are not boring ok? Wax seems similar to Elend in that aspect. Wayne is fun to read about. His thoughts on accents and dialect very much my hearts words put on paper.

Overall, good book. Will read the next books in the series.
