Sophie Curtis is a heart transplant patient who is struggling to become really independent for the first time. She lives in a cottage down the street from Sergeant Ethan Bing. Bing's wife was murdered two years ago. He feels he failed her because he has been unable to find her killer. Bing and Sophie meet and feel an immediate connection. There's another murder that Bing connects to his wife's case. He wants to resolve that because he feels he must prior to beginning a relationship with Sophie. The evidence leads Bing to discover things about his wife that are painful. There is a big issue that arises between Bing and Sophie that appears it will prevent them from being together. This was a good story with a strong conclusion that I enjoyed.
