Tokyo Ueno Station
by Yu Miri
sad
slow-paced
This book would be great for someone, but that person isn’t me.
I think there’s a really nice story hidden in here, but overall I didn’t like it
The structure was frustratingly haphazard in a way I did not enjoy. It was incredibly random and it annoyed me. It was also very sad but in a way I found quite dull and dour.
Probably much more rewarding for those more familiar with deep Japanese culture, but I found the culturally-centered stories quite long and confusing.
Almost DNF but it’s so short I just powered through
There are some nice moments but really outweighed by nonsense
