Holy cow this book! It was a GREAT read and kept me turning the pages. If I had to describe it by comparing it to other series I would say it's a mix of Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Claymore (the manga). I love the world and mythology that Peterfreund has created in this book and I cannot WAIT to pick up the next in the series. I seriously loved all of the characters, well, most of the characters. Astrid is amazing. I also loved how serious issues were woven into this book as well.
