I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
5.0
I was never into iCarly but I'd heard of the show. Regardless of whether or not I saw her on my TV, it's always sad to read about what goes on behind closed doors with some child actors. I grew up on Nickelodeon and hearing about people like "the Creator" makes me sick.
Jennette's voice is raw and honest throughout her journey of dealing with a narcissistic and abusive mother, eating disorders, and problems with alcohol. I appreciated her for sharing her story, especially the ugly parts. It's so easy to think that fame leads to an easy life and it's coveted by many, but Jennette's story definitely shows otherwise. I hope she continues to find healing on her journey through recovery.
