This is what I needed it to be--an older middle grade, young YA scary story. It'll work for book talks or for reader's advisory, for those kids who have moved on from Goosebumps but aren't quite ready for older horror. It's not genius, but hey, one of the descriptions of a dead body made me flinch.

This is definitely an older version of Goosebumps, with characters that aren't developed and a rushed ending, but for a fast read it'll hit the spot.
