I honestly was a bit disappointed by 75% of the cases in this part of the series, I felt the others held my interest a bit more. But those that held my interest, REALLY held my interest. Finally got to see the infamous Sherlock Cliff scene too!

I'm a bit too immature for these older books because this statement just made me go yaaaas
Any attempt at recovering the bodies was absolutely hopeless, and there, deep down in that dreadful caldron of swirling water and seething foam, will lie for all time the most dangerous criminal and the foremost champion of the law of their generation.
I cannot imagine living in 1800s and reading this case for the very first time going: EXCUSE ME??? YOU CANT JUST
