The House with the Golden Door by Elodie Harper
5.0
i am writing an actual review of this book because it was that good. and i am giving it 5 stars! which i don’t do a lot!
elodie harper is an incredible author. i can’t believe it took me so long to pick this up, because the first book (which i read almost 2 years ago) had me SAT. it’s so evident that elodie harper put so much effort and research into telling this story and giving justice to the enslaved people in pompeii, whose stories are generally overlooked in history.
i don’t want to put spoilers in this review so that’s all for now but like. omg guys read this trilogy. i could talk about this story forever. the characters are so dynamic and feel so real to me and the way pompeii is described makes me feel like i’m there.
there were so many shocking moments in this book (especially toward the end) and it is just so wonderful. ahhhhh
