I wanted to love this book. At its core it’s such a heartfelt story about a young woman who has suffered a terrible trauma and begins to reclaim herself, with the encourage of a kind man. What made me struggle with it was the flashing forwards and back, which made the pacing struggling in places and sometimes felt unnecessary. Ultimately, a wonderful love story full of hope alongside grim realities.
