I think it’s this authors debut novel and it reads as such. The characters were kind of annoying and also unrealistic, you’re telling me this group of playboy D1 jocks also are reincarnations of golden retrievers while also being smart and thoughtful. I don’t know about this author but I’ve spent some time around some athletes and let me just say they just aren’t like that (I get it’s a romance book but bffr). Also the whole daddy issues thing was driving me up the wall, “my dad never loved me or cared about me” meanwhile her dad repeatedly reaches out to her and tries providing for her. Cry me a f*cking river. Also the plot seemed very similar to both icebreaker and the off campus series by Elle Kennedy. I know they’re all hockey romances but the plot seemed very familiar just with POC characters.

I did like the design of the book though so points for that.
