Abroad in Japan by Chris Broad
4.0
Abroad in Japan by Chris Broad audiobook narrated by Chris Broad. Published by Penguin Audio, listened to on Audible 4 stars.
When Chris aged 22 arrived in a rural village in Japan, to teach English in a local Japanese school he wondered whether he had made the biggest mistake in his life so far.
Chris has zero teaching experience and no knowledge of the language or culture he wonders if he will be the most quickly fired teacher in Japan’s history. This book written and told n his own words chronicles his life and adventures in Japan. This book takes you from the top of Mt Fuji and missile attacks from North Korea. Chris spends 10 years in Japan, teaching and then blogging about Japan and their culture.
Chris does come across as a bit of an idiot and even though he says his age and when he arrived in Japan, in my head I had an image of a much older man.
I still enjoyed listening to his adventures and learning a little bit about Japan.
