Iron Flame
by Rebecca Yarros
Wow.
And once again Rebecca Yarros wrote the book of the year.
I have to say my favorite parts are still Tairn's interactions with anyone really. Tairn is my new spirit animal. He makes me laugh so much and I absolutely enjoyed teenage Andarna! So much fun to read.
I was also quite fond of the character development in this book. Violet and Xaden went thru so much and the way they both overcame those stepstones and ended up being able to communicate clearly what they wanted was so great!
Violet's second signet: I am so excited to find out about her second signet. I read in an interview that the signet has already manifested and that it is allover this book. My idea is that it maybe has something to do with her dreams. She can possibly see the future. Possibly is able to dreamwalk. I don't know. But it for sure has something to do with Andarna and is something that she needs. She is such a smart person and figures things out so perfectly I feel like there's something up with that.
Andarna: I knew that Andarna is going to be more special than just being a young dragon that all of a sudden bonded a rider. How Tairn couldn't figure it out and not know about it is also something that I don't understand because Andarna would have to be so powerful to shield him out all the time.. Just guessing tho.
Overall: If I could give 6 stars I would. Obviously. I am just in love with the writing style. There's never a moment where I want to skip a paragraph and I rarely have that feeling. I am so excited for the next one!

“Scratch her eyes out,” Andarna suggests. “Really. The eyes are the softest tissue. Just jab your thumbs in there—”
“Andarna! Use some common sense,” Tairn snaps. “The kneecaps are a much easier target.”
“I’m still in my middling years,” Tairn grumbles. “You’ll be waiting awhile.”
“Really?” She shimmies the harness into a more comfortable position. “I figured you were decades into your elder era. You certainly act like it.”
"I could torch him if you would like," Tairn offers. "But you do seem attached."

Spoiler
Xaden's secret: I feel like the secret wasn't as bad as they made it out to be. But maybe there's going to be something in the next books that will show us exactly why his second signet is as bad as it is.Violet's second signet: I am so excited to find out about her second signet.
