 This should be an interesting series to read. It has the young romance, the wizards, the political battles and coming of age angles. I did find for me it was a bit of a slow start but not too slow. It kept my interest throughout the story and I am enjoying the concept and setting within the tale. I have always been a sucker for medieval type settings and this goes right into that category for me along with the magical atmosphere. I do find the characters to be more surface written which need more depth but I do remind myself that this is a middle grade to young adult book. I am looking forward to reading the next installment (my son in law borrowed me this set to read) and having discussions with my son in law about our likes and dislikes.
