The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena

4.0

The Couple Next Door was an unputdownable read for me. Which is saying a lot because since I became a mother, I have a hard time reading books where children go missing. But somehow this one worked for me.

Anne and Marco seem to have it all until they leave their baby at home while attending a dinner party with their next door neighbors and she goes missing from her crib. And, of course, their whole world begins to unravel.
⠀⠀
The pacing is perfect and all the twists made me keep reading long into the night. Sometimes you just need that book that makes you keep saying “just one more chapter” until it’s 3am and you’ve finished it. This book was it for me. And that ending!
⠀⠀
I definitely think all the Gone Girl type thrillers are overdone but this one? This one I liked.

Fast-paced, twisty plot will keep you up all night.
