Silver Girl by Elin Hilderbrand

5.0

I have so much to say about this book. First and foremost, I’ve read maybe 12 of Elin’s books and this one just hit different. It was very deep and at times, emotionally darker than any of her other books. The rawness of it made for a captivating story. Also, she described situations and feelings that I feel are difficult to put into words and she did it so well. For example, when she described Connie’s “sense of well being” and how it snuck up on her which doesn’t happen often. I could instantly put myself in that feeling and knew exactly what she meant. This happened a few times and I found myself grabbing for my highlighter so that I can come back to these moments. It was a great book for Saturday afternoon and I’m wrapping up my 2024 summer reads with this one. Highly recommend!
