The Sunshine Sisters by Jane Green

2.0

"I may not share the same blood, but I've come home. To the Sunshine sisters."

This is a story about three estranged sisters, who are learning how to outgrow the mental trauma that they received from their mother as a child. Their mother, Ronni Sunshine was a B list actress, who always strived to show the world how "amazingly talented and beautiful she was". Her extreme narcissistic personality led her girls, Nell, Meredith, and Lizzy, to not only feel resentment towards her... but towards each other as well. That is until Ronni tells them that she is dying. Not only is she sick, but she is planning on ending her own life before the illness can.

This book was very character driven! It was told from the perspective of Ronni's three children throughout their lives. Each of the daughters have completely different personality traits that they have taken from their troubled childhoods. I really enjoyed reading about how these personality traits came together and ultimately created a really great friendship. However, the story line was quite slow. I thought it was going to be more thrilling than it was! Either way I did enjoy reading this book! It relays the importance of family, forgiveness, and growth.
