so that was a pretty interesting read! (i am writing this review almost a month later so let's see how much i remember, lol)
i found interesting the whole surrounding build-up as it was v post-war and i have not found that many books about that time. especially one from The Netherlands! i think this is my first one from there. the atmosphere was nicely put and it really does answer to the mysteriousness of the plot itself - the plot twist was great! loved that one.
now for the plot - i have mixed feelings about the whole thing. i loved the fact that they were lesbian (i might have enjoyed them being close a little too much but wtv) and that conclusion was also so well built but they were both holding so much personal baggage that in some parts it felt so stupid "fighting" over some of the stuff. the ending was a bit... dull... i seriously did not care about them being happy at the end. i just wanted them tokiss and be close (we can see where my trauma lays).
all in all, i'm glad that i read a book that's out of my usual geographic region! also i'm happy that we finally get a bookthat has lesbian or queer relationship in general that ends in happiness, no matter how bland it was the ending (to me!!).
