Blood to Dust by L.J. Shen
5.0

I don’t know how LJ Shen does it, but time and time again I fall deeply, madly in love with her characters and Nate and Prescott were no different! Prescott was one tough woman. Dealing with so much darkness in her life, only to find a broken Knight in her midst. And Nate, a life so bleak and lifeless, only to find a rumbling storm in the form of a beautiful, perfectly imperfect women.

Prescott and Nate were not without their flaws, but what mattered is the actions they chose to take. They are not bad people, but fair.

“She gives me storm, and I give her peace”.

The way Nate and Prescott completed each other. The way Prescott creates a storm in Nates bleak life and the way Nate creates peace in Prescott’s chaotic life is truly beautiful. To watch as their love slowly starts to unfold piece by piece is astonishing. Like petals of a flower slowly blooming. Their love is raw, untamed, and perfectly imperfect, but it is them through and through.

““Tell me something beautiful,” his lips speak into mine. This time, I don’t have to search my brain for an answer. No words written by someone else can do us justice. “Us,” I rasp. “We’re beautiful and ugly and broken. . .and whole.””

Time and time again I thought I couldn’t fall more in love with Nate and Prescott, but I was so wrong. Every page, every word, I fell more in love with these two. They took a piece of my soul and I don’t ever want it back.
