Lyrics of a Small Town
by Abbi Glines
I keep going back and forth on this rating. I think I’m landing on 3.5 stars…
I felt like this was a super shallow story that could have been deep and emotional but it just never got there for me. I really enjoyed going through Henleys list from her Gran, but I would have liked to know more about each person. I wish the relationship between Henley and Rio could have developed a little more and Saul, I’m not sure what Henley even fell in love with because we know nothing about him besides his mom and that he’s a loyal friend with a crude vocabulary. Ultimately, I liked this group of friends and what could have been, but it just didn’t quench my thirst for a deeper story.
