The Late Show by Michael Connelly

3.0

The book felt meh at most!
Pros:
1- fast read (thankfully)
2- the investigative approach was done well for the most part, despite some unrealistic moves and some plot holes
3- the intensity of the climax of the plot was real, I enjoyed the action of realizing the culprit, and facing him, and what went down.

Cons:
1- the conversations between the characters were what I could recall the most and in a negative manner. They were so scripted, so bland, lacking meaning, realism, and emotion
2- there were several perspectives and it took a while to be able to understand what was going on and who was which!
3- the transition was annoying at most
4- the plot felt weak somehow
5- the characters were annoying, and some depth was attempted to be given to the characters but I think it wasn't as successful
6- we kept returning to who she was, and what she wanted and that one incident with someone in the force that made her go to the night shift
7- there were side cases that were somewhat irrelevant to the story, but maybe it's a base to build on the series. So I don't know!
