I liked Mary's character and some of the banter between her and her father's ghost and a few of the other characters. However, for a relatively short book, it dragged. This was not enough to keep me engaged. I found most of the plot predictable and was a little upset when I finally felt I wanted to see how it all ended, that it was almost exactly as I expected.

2.5 stars.
