This one has been sitting on my shelf for a while, and I’m so glad I finally got to it! I absolutely adored this book. August and Jane were deeply compelling characters. It was so easy to root for them. Watching August come out of her shell and find herself was so beautifully written. Jane’s journey to remembering who she was and trying to decide where she belonged made me ache for her. Their banter was hilarious. I loved the way their love story unfolded slowly at first and then suddenly all at once.  The found family with Myla, Nico, Wes, and Isaiah was so sweet. They all added depth and heart to the story. I loved how open and accepting they all were! The magical realism element of the story was perfectly executed. The plot sucked me in and held me captive. Every time I thought I knew how it was going to end details changed, and I had to reassess. I didn’t guess right how it ended, but the ending was so good! It fit the characters and the story well. I selfishly wanted a few more pages to see how it all worked out for the characters!
