Identicals by William Brennan Knight

5.0

I received this story as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was captivated by this story the moment I started reading it. This was a very gripping story of a man grieving the loss of his daughter all while his family is falling apart. We follow Jack as he is drowning his grief in a bottle. The writing really lets the reader feel the weight of the pain and sadness this family is struggling with. The strain in Jack's marriage felt very raw and real.

The author crafted a beautiful story that frightened me while keeping me at the edge of my seat. I kept wanting to know more about the Identicals and what the price of seeing a loved one who had passed away would be. This story made me question my own relationship with death and grief and wonder how I would have reacted if I was in the character's shoes.
