Ermmmmmm. This was good but also bad? I just feel like damn how traumatized can these people be and it felt a bit like trauma porn or whatever that term is like I fear it felt to me as if the traumatic events and abuse that occurred were plot devices like they are in a lot of Wattpad/Wattpad-esque books. No hate to wattpad I think I just prefer to read books where these things are handled/written in a different way. Like separate my wattpad reading from the books where I read about trauma and abuse. Bc I love a wattpad romance don’t get me wrong just maybe let us not combine that with such issues like child sexual abuse perhaps. I also read this at the same time that I read Beloved by Toni Morrison and Beloved wiped the fucking floor w this book in terms of the way it discusses trauma and abuse. Ngl had no clue what this series was like at all before I read this and maybe I should’ve done research bc I probably just wouldn’t have read it at all lol. I did really like the central relationship though and that the guy wasn’t like insanely ripped and he was more bulky bc I lurve that in a man
