What a gorgeous book! I loved the writing. I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite quote. The story was engaging and did a good job of “showing not telling”. If you are someone who needs all the information to enjoy a book, this isn’t for you. This is a snapshot within a larger story and we have to draw what information we can from our characters, but their relationship is the true focus of this book.
Graphic: Body horror, Blood, and Violence
Moderate: War, Grief, Animal death, Death, Injury/Injury detail, and Confinement
Minor: Excrement, Murder, Suicidal thoughts, and Vomit
