Should be required reading for law makers and those who influence drug policy.

Prohibition has been one of the worst legislative decisions in history. It took a decade for us to learn this lesson when it comes to alcohol, why then do we continue to ignore the extreme suffering caused by modern Prohibition?

Drug abuse is a problem yes, but it is a problem that will never be properly mitigated through law enforcement and the so called war on drugs.

Those who are going to use will do so regardless of the law. By removing both the legal consequences and the stigma associated with drug use and addiction, avenues of treatment and recovery become far more realistic and beneficial.
