Refuse to Be Done: How to Write and Rewrite a Novel in Three Drafts by Matt Bell

5.0

Super helpful, in-depth, and upbeat! Bell walks you through all the steps from motivation during a first draft, to tips on how and what to revise in a final draft — the specifics are helpful and thorough, yet also suitable for any genre.

The author’s voice is my favorite part of this book. It is instructional, but incredibly kind and affirmative, giving the reader a sense of camaraderie. Celebrate your wins!! We can do this!!!

I put this right up there with my other favorite writing books: Save The Cat Writes A Novel by Jessica Brody, and Brave The Page by Rebecca Stern & Grant Faulkner.
