breeperscreepers 's review for:
To Sleep in a Sea of Stars
by Christopher Paolini
adventurous
mysterious
tense
slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven:
A mix
Strong character development:
Yes
Loveable characters:
Complicated
Eloquent, grandiose deep-space descriptions and an exciting plot warred with some corny dialogue and a lack of emotional connection to any of the characters. I liked this book but I can confidently say I won't reread this because of the length and somewhat cheesy finale.
Only one thing actually kinda irked me, and that was the Seekers immediate disappearance after being introduced. Such a cool enemy, what do you mean it only gets a brief mention towards the end and we never get to see it in action? Why bother including it in the first place?
