Home Before Dark by Riley Sager

4.0

It’s hard to put into words how I feel about this book. The book’s actual premise was not what I originally thought going into this book. That doesn’t mean the story doesn’t deliver in every way possible. The story was such a creepy thriller that I really found myself deeply engrossed in. The pacing was a bit better than Sager’s other book “Lock Every Door.” I believe this is because the featured chapters of the main character’s father book, “House of Horrors.” It really helped to move the story along in a very enjoyable way and set the tone. Usually when fictional books are featured in a fiction read, I find myself wanting to skip those parts. But actually I really loved its part of this book. This read may not have been what I was expecting, but in no way shape or form am I disappointed.
