Thank you @theparliamentpress for the eARC of ‘Unspoken’ by Celia McMahon! I’m not really sure what I think of this book. It had a really interesting plot and I loved Lulu’s character until the end where she and Izzy have a confrontation. There were some parts of this book that seemed a bit anachronistic to me because it seemed to be set in a medieval time and yet they use nail polish and know what the ‘downward dog’ position is. Izzy was also a bit over dramatic when it came to her brother and other people talking about him. I also apparently completely missed the part in the story where Izzy and Fray get all close and cuddly cause first they’re friends and then BAM they’re so in love. I felt like I didn’t really see their relationship develop in that way so it was a bit of a surprise. Also side note but omg Izzy’s father and mother are both some hella insane characters. Like by the end of the book I honestly think her mother was a bit psycho and her father was just a slimey gross human. But overall it was an interesting book and I’ll read the next one!
