The second half of this book is what kept me reading. I really struggled in the beginning to figure out why there were so many different characters and what place they all had in the story. There are many perspectives told throughout the story that can be a bit confusing.
However, once I got a lay of the land, I began to enjoy the story , especially told through the main character Vera. She has lots of character development, and it seems like she and Salome seem to almost morph into one person towards the end which I liked.
However the lack of pay off at the end regarding Benny’s trial, if the movie was a success, if Vera went back to Mexico is unfulfilling.
