Sycamore Row
by John Grisham
Why would a divorced attorney handwrite a new will, leaving out his children and grandchildren, explaining the terms of his burial, and bequeath most of his $25million fortune to his housekeeper/caregiver of three years right before hanging himself from a sycamore tree? This book set in the 80s pulls no punches in describing the discriminatory world of Mississippi and Tennessee where most of the book is set and where the good-ol'-boy network is alive and well.
The actor who reads the recording has a flare for accents and multiple voices, and I enjoyed listening to it. Grisham fans will delight and new-to-Grisham readers are in for a ride. Recommended!
