This book was not at all what I had expected. I borrowed this one on my Kindle without knowing anything about it -- other than it was a thriller mystery type book. I generally read those pretty quickly because I just have to know what is going to happen next.

The Mistress through the body of the novel was going just as you would expect. However,  the final chapters turned the book into an ending that I did not see coming. I'm still not sure how I completely feel about the ending however. I want more information like why...in the first place...? And if you've read it maybe you have that same thought as well.

Susan was annoying. I felt like A LOT of this novel could have been condensed because we get it, devoted mother who smothers her child and is now in an empty nest. Everything with her sisters and family was really unnecessary. The author could have just said she felt like she was a doormat or felt like she gave up her hopes and dreams to ensure that her family was taken care of and her sisters were able to go to University instead of Susan.

Hannah is a shitty person and I understand bad shit happened in her childhood...but to just stay in that lane and become a shit person herself that uses people... just isn't acceptable.

Anyways, I want to read more from this author eventually, and I'm glad that this book was enjoyable.
