Steven Erikson's third novel of the Malazan Book of the Fallen series, Memories of Ice is a masterpiece, not just of epic fantasy, but of fiction as well. If Deadhouse Gates cemented Malazan as a truly special series, then Memories of Ice has solidified it as one of the greatest of all time. Erikson's worldbuilding remains stellar, and his characterization and character development throughout this novel are new levels of astonishing. This novel contains so many incredible moments, and has so many characters whom are endlessly compelling and expertly written. Memories of Ice is a tale of fierce and endless compassion, written with limitless love, and I could not recommend it more highly.
