Fallon up until 16 was an up and coming actress until a house fire left her scarred over 30% of the left side of her body. On November 9th two years later, Fallon is out to lunch with her now estranged father who used to be her acting coach. Ben ends up intervening during the conversation. As the day continues and the two grow more and more interested in each other they come up with a 5 year plan to stop themselves from not living their lives whilst getting to know each other. They’ll meet every year for 5 years on November 9th, with no way to contact each other in the mean time.

Wow. This book was not for me. The way Ben fawns over Fallon and her scars just felt like disability porn. And if he talks one more time about how when he shows emotion means that he’s not an alpha male… it’s just not for me. Please never recommend anything about “alpha male” characters as it’s just not my thing. This book, like all of Hoovers books come with mega fans and people who don’t like them. I’ve got 2 I’ve enjoyed and another 3 so far that I cannot find joy in for me. So take this with a pinch of salt for an opinion. And let me know what you think if you’ve read it because maybe it’ll sway me into liking it or hating it more. 🤣
