Another reread. I pull my ideas about management and how to work well with others from a lot of different places. 98% of the time it is not even something about either topic. Where this one got me was in helping a few abstract ideas I had click into place about who I do not want to be in my coworkers lives (the lily pad theory especially) and a core value for me. We've got to fucking take care of each other. You are only going to feel invested in something about exactly as much as that something is invested in you. Appreciating, valuing, trusting and respecting people and celebrating them makes them feel valued and respected and safe. When you feel this, you can take on the world.
