I heard about this book from someone online, and I was excited to pick it up.
"Come and Get it" follows multiple women in an Arkansas college in 2017, and explores their different experiences. Agatha is a traveling professor who is trying to write a story about college girls. Millie is a senior resident assistant who is trying to figure out her life before she graduates next year. We also get to follow a couple of Millie's students she is watching out for in the dorm.
I really enjoyed that each character had a completely different personality and different struggles that were competing for their attention. I think this diversified cast really added a robust element to the story. I think almost any woman could read this book and identify with at least one person and their difficulties.
It is so difficult to be a young adult and try to navigate the world. All of the characters were flawed and made mistakes, some worse than others, and it added so much to the story to make it all the more relatable.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a story about how messy life can be, and I will definitely be keeping an eye out to read from Kiley Reid in the future.
