Chesapeake by James A. Michener

4.0

First Michener and I have to say, I really dug it! Almost a thousand pages covering over 400 years of the residents on the Eastern Shore. Loved how the stories were separated by different voyages. Author does an awesome job creating depth and motivations for so many generations of multiple families. Took a minute to work through but very excited to read Hawai’i and other books in this guys oeuvre. Shoutout Pentaquod, the Paxmore crew, Eden and Cudjo, my Irish Catholic Caveny’s, and, above all, the natural beauty of the eastern shore and the marshlands, estuaries, critters, and waterways. Should I become a boat guy? Many are asking!
