The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

5.0

This book has so many reasons to fall in love, it's well-articulated writing, the deeper meaning, and of course the author himself. Reading a classic is always a struggle for me, it took a lot of time but it was a refreshing and enjoyable experience.

The slow withering of our main character, Dorian's soul was terrible and scary to witness, yet it was perfectly described by Wilde. This book includes obsession, narcissism, hedonism, misogyny, and the lives of the upper classes of London. It displays the mind of a corrupt man and how he leads to corrupt others, as well as the pride he does for doing this. Although this book is not my type or what I am used to reading, I am forever grateful that I gave it my time.

A fantastic philosophical novel that everyone should read once.
