The Yellow House: A Memoir by Sarah M. Broom

5.0

“Who has the rights to the story of a place?” This lyrical and vivid history of a family’s connection to their family home is at once heartbreaking and thought-provoking. Broom’s writing transported me to New Orleans (particularly New Orleans East): that of long ago, that during the time of Katrina, and that of an outsider attempting to identify the meaning of home. Wonderfully done.
