Hot take: I liked the movie better (don't come for me).
However, it's a beloved fantasy classic for a reason, and I still greatly enjoyed it despite the somewhat slogging beginning. For anyone struggling with getting through the first part, I highly recommend the audiobook with narration by Andy Serkis. He brought the written story to life so wonderfully, and I would love to read more books narrated by him in the future.
