If you're looking for a fun, fluffy, and lighthearted fantasy with LGBTQ+ main characters this is NOT the book to read. (In my opinion)
I enjoyed Malice and was excited to jump right into reading this one especially after the events of the first novel. I'm genuinely so conflicted in how I feel about Misrule. There were times I really just wanted to set it on a shelf and not pick it up again. Some of the characters (and their actions) were so awful that I started to hate what I was reading. Obviously that's the whole point of why they're in the book-- -- if Rose has no haters then I'm dead.
I don't know if I like or dislike the epilogue. However, despite me wanting to stop reading, I persevered and the last ~4 chapters + epilogue were probably the most entertaining.
Overall, I'm glad I read this book but I probably won't reread it.
