Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption
by Bryan Stevenson
This true story is one that every person should read. I have extremely limited experience with the criminal justice system and this book talks about the many injustices that happen, specifically to demographics who have the odds stacked against them to be incarcerated.
The author and narrator, Bryan Stevenson, founded the Equal Justice Initiative, a law firm dedicated to helping those who were wrongfully sentenced to death row, life in prison for crimes committed when they were children among other causes. This was an eye opening book to how the criminal justice has failed many over time due to corruption as well as unfair laws.
