I kinda wish I could say I get it... the disjointed narrative, choppy style and lack of plot made this really difficult to engage with for me..I simply didn't care about anyone or anything in it. I see how she is trying to reflect the turbulent climate crisis anxiety ridden state of mind that so many of us experience today, and I thought it would be right up my street because of this, but sadly it wasn't for me. It reminded me of Ocean Vuong's 'On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous' through a borderline pretentious vibe I got from it. That being said I did come to this book straight after The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt and I feel like any book that follows that one would have a hard time.
