Fall from India Place
by Samantha Young
3.5 very sexy drama filled stars
Wistful and forlorn, mixed with deep longing, seduction and love. Fall from India Place is a story about first love and second chances. It’s about friendship and understanding, regret and forgiveness, it’s about two soul mates that have to fight through many obstacles between them.

I met Hannah since she was a young teen from the previous books in the series. But she’s all grown up now, working hard, living on her own and with zero interest in dating because she’s unable to overcome the damage left by Marco D’Alessandro.
Through flashbacks we learn that a sweet friendship started between a 14 year old girl and a 17 year old boy. Through time their friendship continued, but besides the huge gap in age difference there were other deeper maters keeping them apart.
It was obvious even without him explaining that Marco had serious issues and reasons for wanting to keep Hannah in the friend zone. But Marco and Hannah do share a night together that leaves long lasting scars.
I thought I would have trouble with Marco because we learn that he didn’t just behave completely ungentlemanly the one night they shared, he acted like a complete ass by walking out on Hannah and then leaving the country without a word. But after a chance encounter, he actively pursues her wanting to explain himself and a second chance to get her back.
After careful consideration I decided I couldn’t let him off the hook about him leaving Hannah but I did understand his reasons for not contacting her after. I’m not saying I’m jumping on the Team Marco bandwagon. But after being abandoned by both his parents, being physically and emotionally abused by his grandfather and uncle as a boy I could certainly understand his sense of unworthiness, especially when he had put Hannah on an unreachable pedestal.
He made mistakes, big ones, but he grew up, worked hard and learned to see value in himself. I loved that he had the courage to go after what he wanted. And he wanted Hannah madly, with fervor and intensity.
What I didn’t expect was to be so frustrated with Hannah. She’s the one who grew insecure. Who couldn’t let go of the past. Her whishy washy drama way was just too much and hurting herself, Marco and all her loved ones. I wanted to smack her or slap her or both. I could certainly understand Marco’s impatience with her.
I did however thoroughly enjoyed reading about “the tribe.” Their appearance in the book was amazing. The moment when little Beth gives her opinion on vegetables was priceless.
And Cole who has definitely grown up to be a very interesting hottie I can’t wait to read about.

“When I’m with you it feels like everything’s going to be okay. I can’t explain it.”

“I’m in love with you. There is no one else for me and I don’t know how I know, but I do know that there never will be.

“You were this precious, beautiful gift that came into my life when I needed it the most.”
“You were too good for me. I knew that the first time I walked you home… Not for me.

“We’ll see which one of us can be the most obstinate, Hannah, because, babe, I’m never giving up on us. If it takes a week, a month, a year, whatever, the future is us. I’m spending the rest of my life waking up in the morning with you beside me and getting through each day knowing that when the sky turns dark I’ll be spending the night inside you."

“Beth, eat your peas.” “I don’t want to… They’re little fuckers.”
